Hi my name is Sam. I am a potter and gardener florist living in Auckland New Zealand.

I have always been a avid crafter and maker. My Mum is a quilter and as a child I would go to craft markets with her to ‘help’.

Mostly I spent time wandering and daydreaming and asking all the different makers how they made what they were selling *cringe*

A highlight was when I got to have a go on a pottery wheel and I made my first pot in a marquee on the lawn of some country estate (I grew up in the UK).

After that I joined a local community pottery class. A degree in Ceramic Design in London followed and then my own studio practice for a while.

After emmigrating to New Zealand with my partner and small children, it took me a while to find my way back to pottery. Recent work has been focused on slab building and developing exciting new crystalline glazes.

I love to combine my pots with my passion for gardening, food and floristry.
